About this tool
A 20KB cap is tight — common on older exam portals and ID upload fields. A normal phone photo is 150–300× that size, so it needs heavy compression and usually some downscaling to fit. This tool does both automatically, keeping the image as legible as 20KB allows.
Because 20KB is so small, expect visible softening on detailed photos. For documents and ID photos that’s usually fine; the text and face stay readable, which is what these forms check.
Questions
Does my image get uploaded?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser — the file never leaves your device.
Can I target a size other than 20KB?
Yes, change the target field to any KB value your form requires.
My photo looks soft at 20KB — is that normal?
Yes. 20KB is a very small budget, so fine detail is lost. Try a slightly higher target if your form allows it.
Which formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP inputs; output is JPG so it fits upload forms.
